Our Speaker:  Luc Hobson, Inventor, Co-Founder and Managing Partner for the NewTree Fruit Company, LP

Bio: Luc co-founded, with Chad Anderson, the NewTree Fruit Company, LP, in 2013 to develop and deliver the only De-SugaredTM 100% Fruit Juice in the North American market. In the wake of a failed new product development, he proceeded to develop and patent the fruit juice De-SugaringTM process currently granted in the United States, Canada, Europe and Japan, while pending in India and China.
 
Prior to founding the company, Luc brings a variety of food related technical capabilities to the company’s brain trust. After completing his B.S. in Biochemistry from Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) in Québec Canada, he acquired in-depth experience and knowledge of food science, manufacturing, quality and R&D over a 30+ year career in specialty ingredient sales, quality assurance and private consultation. Luc pursued a certification as a food safety instructor, as well as, post-graduate studies in Human Nutrition and Dietetics. Relying of his extensive technical background, he is the creative genius who discovered, developed and refined how to make 100% fruit juice even better for you.

Luc and his wife live with their 2 adult children in Montréal, Canada. Industrial experience aside, Luc remains an epicurean at heart and renaissance man in acquiring knowledge through experimentation. It is not unheard, that he is occasionally invited to teach food science and nutrition or comment on matters of science in the local media.
