The 1st Annual CIFST Wine Tour was a resounding success! Thank you to everyone who participated.
It was a spectactular day as our guests immersed themselves in a world of flavours where they enjoyed wine and food pairings at three renowned wineries: Bella Terra Vineyards, Konzelmann Estate Winery, and Between The Lines Winery. Throughout the day, they gained insights into viniculture, explored various varietals, and witnessed the art of fermentation firsthand.

The making of wine is thousands of years old, yet, vintners are continually challenged to learn more and achieve more. At a time when consumers are being advised to avoid UPF (Ultra Processed Foods), and food colouring bans are popping up in several states south of the border, it behooves members of the food science sector of the food industry to continually learn about the impact of natural elements - singly and together - on the manufacturing of food and beverages. A wine tour of this nature is one such occasion to be so educated, and as well, humbled by the power of Mother Nature. On a different topic, the networking opportunities exceeded my expectations. Attendees went out of their way to introduce themselves or each other in a friendly, comfortable atmosphere. |
