Manitoba Dairy Ingredients (MDI), a joint venture of Vitalus Nutrition and Gay Lea Foods, launched a new $100-million dairy facility in 2017 that processes milk from Manitoba and Western Canada. The facility has a current milk processing capacity of up to 180 million litres and produces a full range of high-value products including milk proteins, buttermilk and butter.
